What makes a flexible connector 100% dust-tight?
A BFM® fitting uses a patented internal snap-fit seal that sits inside the spigot; as line pressure rises the seal tightens against the pipe wall instead of leaking ("puffing"). It is crevice-free, tool-free to change in under 30 seconds, and certified for food/pharma contact and ATEX dust zones.
What is the difference between tube and pipe in pneumatic conveying?
Tube is specified by outside diameter with thinner walls and tighter tolerances for smooth, low-resistance flow (ideal for bends and couplings), while pipe is specified by nominal bore with thicker walls for structural strength. ROCOM supplies both — HS Umformtechnik mandrel-bent tube bends and JACOB modular pipework.
How do you protect pipework against wear and abrasion?
Abrasive materials are handled with wear-protected piping — KALENBORN linings such as fused-cast basalt (ABRESIST®), zirconium-corundum and high-alumina ceramics (KALCOR®/KALOCER®), and chromium-carbide hardfacing (KALMETALL®) — applied to bends and impact zones to drastically extend pipeline life and reduce downtime.
